I raced in the TBF Duathlon series this past weekend at Rancho Seco park. They have a great layout there and I hope one day we are as big and run such organized events.
I was a little disappointed when I checked in and there were only 60 duathletes registered. But we were also racing against 500 triathletes who should be out of the water before I finish the first 5k. So off I go. For some reasont he race started 2 minutes early. More on this later.
I ran a 6:28, 6:50, 7:05 first 3 miles. Total time was 20:30 seconds. Pretty close to a 5k PR for me, in worse running conditions.
Very quick transition, maybe 30 seconds. Flying mount on the bike. On the bike I only turned about 250 watts, a little low for me for this length, but I passed many people and came in 14th overall including the triathletes. 41:00.
Lost my shoes, so slower transition maybe 1:10. Off on the second run. I ran about 7:10 miles and finished with 1:23. Clock says 1:25 because they added 2 minutes to sync with the tri.

I came in 18th overall, 4th for the Duathlon, and 2nd in class. I was happy.
